Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA
Good Shepherd directs nearly half of its benevolences to the Minneapolis Area Synod to support our collective ministry efforts with the entire ELCA through synodical ministries; global mission in 50 countries around the world; support for leaders and congregations; theological and higher education; the development of resources for stewardship, evangelism, and education; and the initiation and redevelopment of congregations and ethnic ministries.(www.elca.org)
ELCA Missionary Support
A designated giving program of the ELCA, Missionary Sponsorship increases the financial resources available for missionary participation in ministry outside the United States and enables ELCA members to relate personally with ELCA missionaries serving in Africa , Asia , Latin America , and Europe.

ELCA World Hunger
A designated giving program of the ELCA, World Hunger improves the lives of people in need in the United States and abroad by providing immediate relief for those affected by chronic hunger and poverty; by assisting communities through long-term, sustainable development to help alleviate chronic hunger; by advocating for justice by changing laws and systems; and by educating members of the ELCA in issues related to hunger, poverty, and justice.(www.elca.org/hunger)
Community Emergency Service
A ministry located in South Minneapolis that provides emergency assistance to those living in poverty.(www.cesmn.org)
Lutheran Health Care Bangladesh
Operates in southern rural Bangladesh, this agency is dedicated to maternal and child health care-which encompasses community development, preventative and curative health care, and education-in Dumki and other rural villages. A cooperative effort involving a consortium of 25 ELCA congregations, the Division for Global Mission, the World Mission Prayer League, the Fairview Hospital Foundation, and Global Health Ministries.
