OROMO PARTNERSHIP

Our congregation is blessed to be in partnership with the Oromo Evangelical Lutheran Church , an immigrant congregation in Minneapolis .

This congregation, made up of Oromiffa-speaking members originally from Ethiopia , has been worshipping together in a variety of venues since 1984. Newly moved into the church building of Our Redeemer, 4000 28 th Avenue South across from Roosevelt High School , this congregation of more than 500 is maturing from an immigrant congregation to a community church.

Our partnership as a long established congregation seeks to help them in this movement and in its rich and generous call to mission as the “largest Oromiffa-language congregation in Diaspora.”
